At least it was lemon pie and not something more deadly like chocolate!

Dinner: a couple of chicken wings, a small bowl of chili, and a small bowl of potato soup
Dinner note: very small and quick dinner served at Church

Snacks: a little taste of pumpkin bread
Snacks note: very tasty and sweet pumpkin bread from the Church

Day #56
2/25/08

Exercises
15-minute walk

Diet
Breakfast: 1 sausage biscuit; 1 bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit; and coffee
Breakfast note: Atrium breakfast. Yes, she fed me again.

Dinner: Chicken, carrots, potatoes, and a salad
Dinner note: I went over to Mark's house again and they served me dinner. Mark's mother actually prepared the meal, and it was fantastic! It was very much appreciated!

Snacks: Grape juice
Snacks note: Mark served some grape juice to us so that we wouldn't die from thirst.

Day #57
2/26/08

Exercises
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
150 sit-ups
50 push-ups
10 upside-down push-ups
Other various exercises that I don't know the name of (Kristin and I exercised from her ballet exercise video)

Diet
Breakfast: 1 sausage biscuit; 1 bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit; and coffee
Breakfast note: Same exact breakfast as yesterday from the Atrium

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: red beans and rice, mixed vegetables, and some pinto bean soup
Dinner note: Kristin called me after work and I went over to visit her for the night. Kristin and I went to Wal-Mart and got some ice cream. I figured it was o.k. because we were celebrating. What were we celebrating? Uhhh... we were celebrating February 26, 2008 because that day comes only once ever!

I'll try to post again tonight and say more stuff. My mom then topped it off with one of those blueberry fruit shakes that she makes so wonderfully. It was a good visit.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Not much in exercising today, but that's o.k. because my body is a little sore from this past week. I don't want to over do it.

This was a great Saturday! I got a lot accomplished with just getting my apartment cleaned up where it should be. We had our music practice at the church at 2:00 today and I played Ping Pong with Francios and Pastor Marvin after practice. It was a lot of fun; Kristin and I had fun visiting my parents tonight too, and we got to play some Boggle with them as well. Relaxed and fun, this is how a Saturday should be.

3

120 Days Project: Day 53

Day #53
2/22/08

Exercises
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
150 sit-ups
75 push-ups
50 alternate hammer curls
10 upside-down push-ups

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: Ranch Club Chicken Panini, chili, a Granny Smith apple
Lunch note: Ah, I love this combination of a warm sandwich and warm chili. I'm finally back into my project. I can't get away from it like that or it will be no good. The reason why I'm not posting for the days that I missed from 2/13/08 to now is simply because there is way too much information to remember as far as the exercises that I've done and especially what I ate.

In case you didn't know, I was gone on a ski trip this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed learning how to ski. I'm a little upset that I didn't get to take a picture of myself for the time that I was gone, but I'm getting back into it now. In a nutshell, I was pretty worn out from skiing. That whole day was like an exercise session. I ate breakfast everyday while gone (which consisted of cereal, a waffle, and a bagel). There's no question about it... I knew I would be a little sore after the ski trip, but I really feel o.k. now.

Other things have been going on in my life that I just really need your prayers and support with. A lot of it is just unspoken and private matters, but please pray that God will make a way for me even though it seems that there would be no way. These things that have been going on in my life has really started to drain me mentally and emotionally.

1 <----In regards to the draining situations in my life, I know what this number means. Please pray that it will grow daily.

G'night!

120 Days Project: Day 43

Day #43
2/12/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
150 sit-ups
75 push-ups
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench-dips
10 upside-down push-ups

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: one bowl of Curves whole grain crunch cereal
Snacks note: It was getting pretty late and I didn't want to eat too big, so I decided to eat something small and sort of healthy.

Well, I think I'm now doing more than just losing weight. I guess it's to be expected, and I noticed it last night, and that's muscle growth. I've noticed that my body is beginning to take shape in more than just getting smaller weight wise, but I'm starting to get definition as well. The exercises that I do are also getting easier from my endurance building up as well. A new record on my upside-down push-ups! This is starting to get really good. Well, to be continued... I still have a ways to go.

Some cool news. I can now fit comfortably in my 36's. In case you didn't know. I was a 38 and even some of my 38's were getting kind of snug. Time to throw in some old clothes!

I came home today from work and as soon as I came into my apartment, I crashed in my bed. I got a good 2-hour nap in. Now I'm going to go to bed early so that I can feel great tomorrow! Oh, I was not able to get this Friday off work, but my boss said that I could take that following Tuesday off. So now I have Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday off! Oh! Sweet rest and relaxation!

120 Days Project: Day 38, Day 39, Day 40, Day 41, and Day 42

Day #38
2/7/08

Exercises
30-minute walk

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: chili and a banana
Dinner note: I made some chili that I thought was awesome! I had a little bit of both!

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: beef jerky
Snacks note: beef jerky that my friend James gave me the night before.

Day #40
2/9/08

Exercises
*helped move furniture and other items (at the church)

Diet
Breakfast: two sausage egg and white gravy biscuits and one extra sausage
Breakfast note:

Lunch: chili, a couple of bites of a hot dog, a tasty cherry desert-like food that Veronica made, and sweet tea
Lunch note: I don't remember the name of the desert that Veronica made, but it was good. Ask Kristin for the name of it. The church had a bazaar where we all brought in things that we didn't use put up for sale. This was basically a fund raiser for the youth so that they can go on a skiing trip this coming weekend... and I'm going too! It's going to be a blast I know.

Dinner: vegetable soup and salad
Dinner note: Kristin and I went over to my apartment and she made a great vegetable soup from the fixings in my kitchen. We invited my parents over and they brought in a salad to go with the soup. Good visit.

Snacks: beef jerky
Snacks note: I love that stuff.

Day #41
2/10/08

Exercises
NONE

Diet
Breakfast: coffee
Breakfast note: Church coffee

Lunch: spicy chicken sandwich, chili, baked potato, mandarin chicken salad
Lunch note: Kristin and I went over to Wendy's and met C.J. and James for lunch. It was good to see them.

Dinner: chili, two hotdogs, and sweet tea
Dinner note: No comment. Too much bread.

Snacks: beef jerky
Snacks note: o.k. I finished it off

Day #42
2/11/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
200 sit-ups
75 push-ups
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips
5 upside-down push-ups

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: Oats and Honey Granola Bars
Snacks note: Another food item that James gave me. He's very generous.

I'm not dead, and I'm not giving up on the project. I will continue to move forward in this. I will be successful at it.

CHILI! What's up with all the chili eating? I guess I just happen to be in the right chili place at the right chili time. It has done its number... 'nuff said.

Yes, I'm going to go skiing this coming weekend (I'm going with the church youth group). I asked off work Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I definitely got Thursday and Monday off, but I won't know if I got Friday off until tomorrow. We're going to an area near Cincinnati, OH where it is guaranteed to have 'snow' on the mountain (it may be fake snow if it isn't cold enough), and you get to either ski, snowboard, or tube down the slopes. Fake snow or not, it's going to be a blast!

I am learning so much in VB .Net, and also how to use databases to have your GUI serve a purpose besides just being a pretty screen. I really feel if I keep that up too, then I'll have the confidence to pursue a job in that field.

It's been an extremely busy weekend. I really felt like I was going to pass out Friday night because of my lack of sleep. I feel a lot better now, and I'm going to finally get to sleep in Thursday morning! YAY! I love asking off for work! I need to do that more often! zzzzzzzz..... zzzzzzz..... zzzzzzzzzzzzz.............. !

G'Night!

120 Days Project: Day 37

Day #37
2/6/08

Exercises
25-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips
2 upside-down push-ups

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: one bowl of "Warm Cous Cous and Tuna Salad" and coffee
Lunch note: The "Warm Cous Cous and Tuna Salad" is the name that Kristin gave her experiment that she came up with one night at my apartment. She said that it wasn't as good as she made it before. I don't know. I thought it was at least just as good, if not better! I'm always so greatful for such a wonderful girlfriend!

Dinner: about eight chicken wings and one stick of crunchy bread
Dinner note: Good, quick church meal. Linda from church has a true servants heart and is a top-notch example of what showing kindness and compassion towards others is all about. She made up a few other things, but I did not want to eat more than I needed to.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I'm looking forward to Friday night. I'm suppose to meet Mark again and we'll get more involved with SQL and ADO .Net since we didn't have a whole lot of time last time. Also, another friend from the church, Franciox, will be meeting us there. He's going to bring his electric drum set and I'll bring my guitar or keyboard and we'll have a rockin' jam session!

It's way too late. It was really good to see her and talk with her. We saw her at my Aunt Donice's house where she had prepared a couple of chilis for us to eat on and Muddie brought us some cornbread that was good. It was all good. Thank you for the chili!

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I went over to Mark's house tonight since I didn't get to go last night and we went over some more in VB .Net. This time we went into SQL and he showed me how to build tables in a database so that we may maintain and manipulate data from the truck program that we're writing. I'm going to try to meet him again this week for a more concentrated look into SQL and ADO .Net since I didn't have too much time tonight. I wish time ticked a little bit slower. I'm learning a great deal from Mark and I really believe that I could make VB. Net a career thing.

Well, I'm not doing a lot of exercises tonight because I'm really exhausted and sleepy. It's late and I need to hit the hay. G'night!

120 Days Project: Day 32, Day 33, Day 34, and Day 35

Day #32
2/1/08

Exercises
20-minute walk

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: seafood dish, ham and cheese sandwich, some small high-roller cuts (sandwich thing), meat balls and weenies, a small piece of sausage, some guacamole dip, a bowl of chili, mexican salad, and a little bit of a dish that Kristin made
Lunch note: My work had a Super Bowl meal thing going on Friday. Everyone either brought a dish or donated for food. I donated for the cause and ate the food! It was fun to get to try my coworker's cooking. We really do have a lot of guys and gals at my work that know how to cook! I met Kristin at lunch time and we walked a little bit. She made a dish that she let me try. I wish I could remember what it was called, but you may have to ask her... I just remember that it was good, of course!

Dinner: Sushi, shrimp, beef, and chicken
Dinner note: Kristin and I met in Cleveland to go watch our very first live opera. We ate a very filling meal at Yummy's which is a Japanese restaurant in Cleveland. I guess they couldn't think of any other names for a Japanese restaurant.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #33
2/2/08

Exercises
NONE

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: chicken wings
Lunch note: the church made some chicken wings for everyone that we ate on before we had our music practice.

Dinner: one quesadilla and an apple with peanut butter
Dinner note: I went over to Kristin's house Saturday and we made two 13x9 Tiramisu dishes for the dinner that we had after church Sunday. Kristin made some awesome quesadillas that calls for ground beef, diced pineapples, and black beans all in a soft tortilla casing. So good.

Snacks: some lady fingures dipped in coffee................................... w/ground chocolate!
Snacks note: o.k. so this was the first taste of chocolate I've had since the project. no excuses. I'll take it like a man! I didn't fail, because there was hardly any chocolate in the coffee mixture. So there. And lady fingures help to balance it out! Just wait till tomorrow... this was definitely the ultimate splurge weekend!

Day #34
2/3/08

Exercises
Ping pong

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: Italian wedding soup, a salad, bread sticks, spaghetti and meatballs, a punch-like drink, coffee, 2 amaretti cookies, and 1..2...3 pieces of tiramisu!!!
Lunch note: Oh NO! What happened? This was a splurge day if I ever heard of one. What will happen now? Am I doomed? Will I go to hell? NO! I will get right back up! I had a duty and responsiblity to support the youth at our church! We had an awesome, fine-dining type set-up in the fellowship hall after Sunday morning service was out, and the food was as good as the set-up! Kristin's tiramisu was a hit! I hit it hard as so did many others. It was all quality and just a lot of fun to help the youth raise money. I hope they do it more often. They really had a blast doing it.

Dinner: black bean dip with tortilla chips, amaretti cookies, shrimp etouffee, bread, tiramisu and sweet tea
Dinner note: Our church decided to take advantage of the Super Bowl game and had a fun set-up arranged to watch it with some typical food fixings for a Super Bowl get-together. Kristin and I decided to go visit with my parents around the middle part of the game. They had some good shrimp etouffee and bread with it. Yes I had a little more tiramisu! Franciox and I worked off all the food from the ping-pong games that we played! We are getting good at that game! That's stuff is sooo good. I love food.

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Now! I can talk freely and not under the context of foods! I was asked by my dad and my uncle if I could post a couple of pictures of myself to give them an idea of the progress physically and also so they could recognize me when they saw me lol. I'll post the very first picture that I took 1/1/08 along with the 1/31/08 picture and the latest one 2/4/08. I really am embarrassed to even do it now... I don't have anything impressive to show, but at least you'll get to see the results that I'm having now.

Here is the infamous pic from 1/1/08!

Now here I am on 1/31/08.

And finally, here is the one for tonight. That's not important........... four.......... !

Snacks: blueberry shake
Snacks note: This was one of those shakes that my mom makes. Like I said before... it's made from natural fruit! Blueberries, bananas, apples, ice, and... low fat yogurt... low fat! It's soooooooooo good!

Day #30
1/30/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 100
50 bench dips
50 alternate hammer curls
1 upside-down push-up

Diet
Breakfast: 1 sausage egg and cheese biscuit, 1 bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and mixed cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and honeydew)
Breakfast note: I know, I know. Besides, it's all I ate today and it will be worked off.

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

LOL! I incorporated a new exercise! The upside-down push-up! This is where I stand on my head and my feet are straight up (up against a wall for support) and I just simply push up! This is actually an accomplishment because a month ago, I could not even get my head off the floor! I'll do more of these. I would try some more tonight... but I don't want to... I'm beat for now.

I have no excuse for the weight being at 200 lbs. I've eaten a lot this past weekend! At least I'm still staying away from the sweets. I was actually relieved to see it wasn't more! Time to get back into the seriousness of the 120 Days Project!!!

O.k. about VB .Net. Besides learning how to code programs and growing in that area, I'm learning ADO .Net! This is vital in order for the program that you write to connect to a database (such as SQL at some location). I really enjoy programming and I hope to get to the point where I don't have to reference any material at all. You know, where my brain will be the reference tool. Mark is really blessing me by giving me all this knowledge for free! About the project, I'm done with about half of it so far. Creating a nice GUI isn't too difficult for me, but what will be taking a great deal of my time will be using ADO .Net and SQL Server. This is to take the program that I write and add, delete, or manipulate data within the database (which for now will be on the same computer that I write the program on). It's fun!

Work is going good. I'm staying caught up with everything, I just am sooo ready for a day to just sleep in... this Saturday... zzzzzzzzzz... oooohhhhh yeah!

I hope everyone is doing good. I'll talk to you later!

120 Days Project: Day 26, Day 27, and Day 28

Day #26
1/26/08

Exercises
Unloaded a food truck
15 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: rice, spicy chicken with jalapenos, teriaky chicken, sushi, vegetable egg roll, broccoli chicken, peaches, fruit, and a Chinese desert-like thing
Lunch note: Yes, Chinese food. Kristin and I went to the New Dynasty Restaurant and had a good lunch together. Even though it was one plate, I felt like I ate way too much. I guess my stomach isn't used to the large quantities anymore. It was still a good meal.

Dinner: cous cous with tomatoes, peas, and other spices, garlic bread, and one cup of Hawaiian punch.
Dinner note: It's amazing what can be whipped up from a kitchen even though it may appear to be sparse on food. Kristin was able to take what I had and made a wonderful dish! She is truly a chef! My friends James and C.J. came over and all 4 of us played spades together. That was really fun!

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #27
1/27/08

Exercises
NONE

Diet
Breakfast: coffee
Breakfast note: Ray from the church makes some really good coffee!

Lunch: naan bread, curry chicken, vegetable masala, other dishes that I don't know the names of and an Indian dessert with cottage cheese and milk.
Lunch note: It was goooooooooooooooood. Sitar Indian Cuisine. Kristin and I had another lunch together at one of our favorite restaurants. I love the weekends! Uncle Fred, if you take me to the Mexican restaurant downtown, then I'm taking you to the Sitar!

Dinner: bread and sweet tea
Dinner note: Sweet tea! I'm doomed! O.k. at least I didn't get into any of the pasta that they were serving at church. But I definitely worked it off that night playing ping pong.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #28
1/28/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 50
50 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: chicken salad with grape tomatoes, celery sticks, and leaf lettuce
Lunch note: I needed some energy food for work. It was a quick and cheap meal from the Atrium Cafe.

Dinner: leftover cous cous with tomatoes, peas, and other spices
Dinner note: I ate some leftovers from the great dish that Kristin made on 1/26/08.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I can't get behind like this again. Posting two days worth is difficult as it is, but posting three is a lot to remember. Still, I'm on track and feeling good.

Saturday morning I volunteered to unload a food truck for the Angel Food ministry in Cleveland, TN. The reason why I included that as a workout is because I am still sore from that! A lot of those boxes were heavier than I thought. Also, even though I posted no exercises for Sunday, I still worked up a sweat through ping pong and leading worship. As I was playing the guitar and singing in worship Sunday night, my sweat dripped in my eyes! They were burning and I couldn't open my eyes until the end of the song when I got a chance to wipe my eyes! I thought it was pretty funny.

I'm learning VB .Net! I need to post what I'm going to do in that in more detail without going in too much detail! I'll explain more, but for now, I need to go to bed cause work needs me in the morning.

120 Days Project: Day 25

Day #25
1/25/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 100

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

The land of coding can be somewhat interesting. The project in VB .Net that I am working on involves inspections of heavy trucks. I'm really happy with the program that I made. Wish I could show it to you guys, but I don't know the confidentiality of it. Better to be safe than sorry. I know for a fact now that this project will definitely help me to grow! Before long I'll be your local computer geek that will look at random objects on a table and try to figure out how a computer would code that object. Well, I don't think I'll ever get that bad, but I can imagine that if you constantly input a computer language in your brain, then you start thinking like that after a while. It's crazy.

Well, no food today. To be honest, I just wasn't hungry, and if you look at the menu that I had yesterday, then you might would say, "well I guess you weren't hungry!" But I feel good. My stomach was definitely full last night, but I feel tons better tonight!

No sleeping in tomorrow. I'm getting up early to help my cousin with an Angel Food ministry that she asked me to help with. I don't mind helping and I'm kinda looking forward to it.

Oh, by the way, I went over to my parents house this past Tuesday night and I weighed on the scale and it said 198! I finally made it below 200! Now to get to where I want to be, which is around 170-175. Just have to keep at it!

120 Days Project: Day 23 and Day 24

Day #23
1/23/08

Exercises
10-minute walk
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 75
50 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: vegetable soup and a small salad
Lunch note: good healthy lunch from the great cooks at the Atrium Cafe at work.

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #24
1/24/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
20-minute sprint (in my apartment)
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 50
50 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: small container of oatmeal, 1 egg, 1 strip of bacon, one sausage, and mixed cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapple)
Breakfast note: I wanted to try something different for breakfast... so I got oatmeal this time with a smaller amount of the other stuff.

Lunch: rice, spicy chicken, and teriaky chicken
Lunch note: A totally free Chinese lunch! One of the payment specialist from my work decided that she didn't want the meal and sent an e-mail to everyone to see if they wanted it. I was the first one so I was the first served! It was good, but it seemed like too much food. I know that I'm going to be eating a meal with Kristin tonight!

Dinner: rice, masala dosa, chicken curry, dried banana chips with different sauces, nan bread, and a spicy vegetable soup.
Dinner note: Yes indeedy! Indian food! Kristin and I had a date tonight. I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while now. It's call the Curry Pot, but we both agree that the Sitar Indian restaurant is much better. I think I enjoy Indian food more than Chinese food, and I had both in one day! I'm going to have to do some extra sit-ups!

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I sure had a lot to eat today! Well, I know it seems like a lot, but it isn't as much as it could have been. My stomach knows when it's full. I think I worked a lot of it off while running around the apartment.

Well, everything is going good. I'm caught up at work and staying caught up too. I've been working on the project for VB .Net and it's starting to come along. Just a lot of code to have a well written program, but it's definitely challenging me and helping me to grow. I just need to get to the point of being fluent in VB .Net.

I need to post when I'm not so sleepy. I'm wanting the bed! .....................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

120 Days Project: Day 22

Day #22
1/22/08

Exercises
30-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
Sit-ups 100
Push-ups 50

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausages, and mixed cut fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple)
Breakfast note: Another good breakfast at work's cafeteria. This is the opportunity that I explained in the post from 1/20/08. Mark, one of the guys that has recently been coming to our church is pretty proficient in Microsoft Visual Basic .Net and he is giving me a real project to do for/with him. It's an actual project that will be looked at by higher-ups. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn more about VB .Net and he will teach me other areas of VB .Net using ADO .Net and SQL Server. This is stuff that I touched on at Lee University, but he is going to expand my knowledge so that I can hopefully one day make it a career, which I really want to do. I'll tell more about it as it progresses. We are going to try to meet every Monday night to work on the project together, but I'll be responsible for working on what I can during the week. I'm excited!!!

Speaking of Mark, this guy can play the Hammond organ like you won't believe! He's friggin' awesome! I believe there are going to be some great enhancements about to take place in our praise and worship at church! You just have to hear this guy. He's got soul in his playing and he knows how to play that jazz like it's nothing. Awesome.

Good night!

120 Days Project: Day 20

Day #20
1/20/08

Exercises
NONE

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: tortilla chips, salsa, chicken fajitas, guacamole dip, lettuce, bean dip
Lunch note: Kristin and I went and ate with a couple of friends for lunch after church. We went to a good Mexican restaurant called La Altena. It's pretty good, but we're still trying to find a Mexican restaurant that's more authentic. Still it was a good meal and a good visit. I just love fajitas!

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: decaf coffee
Snacks note: I didn't know it was decaf and no one made regular coffee. It was what they had tonight at church. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Weight: 200 lbs

As you can see I have not done any major exercises today. I decided that I need to take a break from it at least one day out of the week... and what better day than Sunday? I just don't want to over-do it to my muscles.

I went over to a friend's house tonight after church and visited with him for a little bit. I then stopped over at my parent's house afterwards since they live in the vicinity. While there, I decided to weight myself. The scale said 200 lbs even! I'm definitely doing this thing. It's working. I can definitely tell a difference in my body too, especially in my stomach area.

I have an opportunity for growth in knowledge! We have a fairly new couple that's been coming to our church and he wants to teach me and give me some real-life work examples using Visual Basic .Net (you actually say it Visual Basic dot Net). This is the program language that I took two semesters of at Lee University. He's also going to show me SQL, which I only took one semester of. I'm really excited about it. This will give me some good experience and growth in that field. I'll keep you updated on that as well.

I'm sooo sleepy. Bed! I come for thee!

120 Days Project: Day 18 and Day 19

Day #18
1/18/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
45-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: one small pack of cheerios, fat free milk, small container of mixed cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapples), and one banana
Breakfast note: Work's breakfast again

Lunch: a few bites of coconut chicken soup, salad, and passion herbal infusion
Lunch note: Kristin and I walked again for lunch and when we got back to her office, she offered some of the coconut chicken soup that she was eating on and another drink of my choice. I really liked the passion drink because of the tropical taste it has. When I got back to work, I stopped by the cafe and made a small salad.

Dinner: chicken, rice, peas, and peanut sauce
Dinner note: I made this meal this night. Kristin had to come to Cleveland in order to do some work at the church, so I decided to make up a good meal for us. I thought it looked kinda neat. It was very "Napoleon Dynamitish" so I was told. It was a good compliment because of how I arranged the chicken on top of the rice with the peas intricately placed on the side. Still a good meal, although I was kinda disappointed in the chicken... it was a little dry, but it was still pretty good.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #19
1/19/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: salad
Dinner note: I went over to Kristin's house tonight to visit and she made this wonderful, colorful salad. It was made up of organic cabbage, organic carrots, organic spring mix salad, awesome tomatoes (bigger than grape tomatoes, but a little smaller than Roma tomatoes), grilled chicken strips, and some good dressing that she made as well.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I met my friend, Fijoy, who is a sponsor of Tau Kappa Omega, and we went up to the place where TKO was putting on the induction process for the new tap. We only stayed for a few hours because we both needed to be back home in time for things we needed to do that night... I wanted to see Kristin :) but I also needed to go over the lesson for the youth Sunday school class tomorrow.

Even though it may look like I didn't do a whole lot of exercises tonight, while I was at the place where TKO was doing inductions, I ran quite a bit and did a lot of little exercises.

I think I may way less now... I have to start wearing my belt on a pair of jeans that I have so that they don't fall down. I have gone down a whole loop hole in my belt too. I am really starting to feel good physically. I just have to keep at it and don't give up.

I'm about to implement a new exercise routine with the current one that I already have. You may think it's funny, but it really is a work-out! Well, it's the New York City Ballet workout DVD that I borrowed from Kristin. Yes, ballet. That stuff will tone you up! No kiddin'! I think I'll try to implement it this Monday. We'll see how it works!

Good night everyone, and I'll keep you updated on the progress!

120 Days Project: Day 17

Day #17
1/17/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 100
Push-ups 50
45-minute walk

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: Grilled chicken panini, tomato and artichoke soup, salad, and mixed cut fruit (strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, and honeydew)
Lunch note: Kristin and I walked again for our lunch today and this time we had more time so we stopped over at Rembrandt's which is near my work. I'm telling you that if you've never been to Rembrandt's, then you're missing out. It's great!

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

No winter wonderland this morning... when I walked outside this morning, it looked sluggish because much the snow that was on the ground last night was already melted. It seems as if it got warmer overnight! What's really crazy is a lot of the schools were out today because of the "hazardous weather conditions." Well, winter's not over yet and we may see some more snow later.

Most of you know that I joined a Greek club when I attended Lee University called Tau Kappa Omega. The school was putting on what they call their "tap night." This is an event where all the Greek clubs "tap" there new members into the club unofficially. My friend that's in TKO and still a student at Lee called and wanted to see if I wanted to walk with them tonight to gather the new tap, so I decided to go ahead and join them. Besides, more walking is more exercise. It was fun though. A good friend that I know is in the new tap and it's really good to see him want to be a part of TKO.

Well, as you can see, my exercises kind of stunk tonight. I believe I'll be getting more exercises in Friday night and Saturday. I'll keep you posted.

120 Days Project: Day 16

Day #16
1/16/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 75
30-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: one small pack of cheerios, fat free milk, small container of mixed cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and honeydew), and one banana
Breakfast note: I think Aramark is getting stingy by not putting any grapes in the mixed fruit selection. I guess maybe it's just not the season for it.

Lunch: one cup of chai tea drink
Lunch note: Kristin offered another one of her tea drinks again for our lunch break. She has a selection of different kinds. This is not an herbal infusion drink. The passion drink is the only herbal infusion drink that she has, I believe. We went walking again, but it was still too short. We are going to try to go walking for a longer period of time next time.

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: one cup of cranberry tea drink
Snacks note: Got this tea from church tonight. Linda fixed up some hot water for everyone for tea and hot cocoa. I cannot partake of the chocolate cocoa! That's o.k. The cranberry tea was excellent enough.

It's SNOWING... at least for Cleveland, TN anyways. The snow doesn't seem to want to stick to the roads, but it's everywhere else at least. I believe that when I wake up in the morning, I'll wake up to a winter wonderland. It would be nice if my work utilized their "hazardous weather" policy tomorrow, but I'm sure that work will continue even with the drizzle of snow / slush. Still, I love the snow.

A guy that our pastor knows came and fixed our sound problems at the church! There was such an annoying buzz in the amps, but it is now resolved and it's sounding smooth! We had music practice tonight after church and I'm already looking forward to Sunday. I really do enjoy playing and singing in the worship service.

Well, time for bed. I have to get up in a few hours. G'night!

120 Days Project: Day 15

Day #15
1/15/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
50-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
25 alternate hammer curls
25 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: Lintel soup and passion herbal infusion
Lunch note: Lintel soup made by Chef Kristin Zinser. I love the garlic in it! I met Kristin today for lunch again today and she offered some of her lintel soup that she made. I learned there is this drink too that is called herbal infusion, and even though it comes in tea bags, it is not tea! Could have fooled me, but the proper name for it is herbal infusion. I like it though because of the nice kick it offered, and hey, it was passion flavored! :)

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I feel really good today! I didn't have to fight sleep at work for once! I walked on the walking bridge today for 30 minutes and came back to my desk when Kristin called me and wanted to see if we wanted to go walking! Well, I calculated in my head that the 30 minute walk I just did counts for the two 15-minute breaks that I didn't take today... so I still had a lunch break to take! Doesn't that work??? She knows that I already walked, but I wanted to get some more walking in anyway; and besides, I wanted to see Kristin too!

Fifteen days and fifteen pictures taken. I have more pictures to compare the first day to. I like to watch the progress from day one to now, even though it is a small, minute change. I noticed that my endurance is getting better too during my exercise sessions.

Hey, Favorite Cuz, if you read this, then let me answer some of your questions that you had asked earlier on a comment you made...

You asked:
1) What are bench dips? Sounds like you dip into chocolate to me. LOL! 2) Where did you get the deer meat? I love deer meat - next time, feel free to invite your cuz. 3) Do we have prayer meeting on Tues nites? I didn't know that. 4) You could make "sprints" to your cuz's house. And, I'm sure it'd take you 10 minutes or less to walk to my house & back. You could also visit with us. If you've forgotten the way - I'm just around the corner & will be happy to remind you. 5) I do worry on the days you're not eating. Maybe you're fasting. 6) I'm AMAZED at the amount of sit-ups you're doing! I don't think I can do 10 without hurting! 7) You're doing great! Keep up the good work! We ARE watching - even if we don't comment every day.

Answers:
1) bench dips is an exercise where you sit in a chair and you pull yourself out and hold on to the seat of the chair with your hands. You dip your butt down to the group, bending your arms. Then you pull yourself back up. No chocolate involved! 2) I got the deer meat from my brother-in-law, Wendel, while visiting them in Louisiana during Thanksgiving. I have two more pounds of deer steak left, next time I cook it, I'll let you know. 3) Yes, we have prayer meeting on Tuesday nights from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Missed you tonight! 4) I'd love to come and visit you anyway. I usually walk during my lunch at work, and by the time I get home, I don't feel like doing much of anything, BUT I will come and see you sometime. 5) Don't feel worried about the days that I'm not eating... maybe I'm fasting. 6) Thanks, please don't think I do them all at one time though. I'll get around 50 at one time, do something else, then I'll do 25 and 25, do something else, and then 50 again. 7) Thanks for watching... even though you don't have to do much for "accountability," watching and posting comments does motivate me to keep on working at it.

120 Days Project: Day 14

Day #14
1/14/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 50
25-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausages, and a small side of cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and honeydew)
Breakfast note: A good breakfast served by the fine folks at the Atrium Cafe at work.

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

I hate coming home from work and going straight to bed, but my body sure loved it today! I came home and got around 2 hours worth of sleep, got up and started my exercises. Work is going good. I was a little behind today, but I'll get caught up tomorrow.

Kristin and I met up for lunch and got in a good 20-minute walk. I thought that would give me a second wind after getting back to work, but I was wanting to find out how to turn my chair into a cot that afternoon.

I think my body is starting to lose that craving for chocolate that it had. Of course, I know, I haven't lost my taste for it. I believe I never will, BUT my body has learned that it can live on without the life force that is within chocolate! Well, my body always knew that... I'm just glad I can somehow motivate myself to do without it.

Well, nothing really unusual and out of the ordinary happened today. It's just your typical Monday that EVERYONE seems to love... of course I'm being sarcastic. I'm ready for the weekend again! O.k. I'm going to go to bed while it's not too late so I can feel awake tomorrow! Until next time!

120 Days Project: Day 12 and Day 13

Day #12
1/12/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 50

Diet
Breakfast: cut apples, oranges, and strawberries
Breakfast note: I went over to my parents in the morning on Saturday and they had some good cut fruit that I sort of helped myself to for breakfast.

Lunch: Mandarin chicken salad, some chili, and some baked potato
Lunch note: Kristin and I stopped over at Wendy's to grab a quick bite to eat. I tried to eat healthy. I think I did.

Dinner: dumplings, peanut sauce, and mixed vegetables
Dinner note: I don't know if they were called dumplings or not, but the only way to describe it is it's got a pasta casing around different types of fillings. Really good with the peanut sauce that Kristin made. The peanut sauce was an 'experiment' that she did and it turned out VERY good. I told her she needed to write that down (peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, chili powder, and water). I don't know if there was anything else in it or not, but that's what I remember. The vegetables were just small cut and tasty.

Snacks: grape juice and a tiny bit of bread
Snacks note: Sounds like communion? Actually, I was just looking for an alright snack in my house and that's all I could find.

Day #13
1/13/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 100
20-minute walk
30 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: coffee
Breakfast note: coffee = a good wake up drug

Lunch: Mexican chicken casserole, egg plant dish, green beans, bread, corn, banana pudding, and sweet tea
Lunch note: This meal was not the healthiest, but it was not too bad and I ate till I was full. I know I ate banana pudding, but that's alright. I just had one serving and it wasn't made too unhealthy-like. At least it wasn't chocolate! This was a meal served by my parents and my grandmother made the egg plant dish. Kristin and I went over there after church to eat. It was very good.

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

This weekend could have been better, exercise wise, I know. However, I believe my body needed some much needed rest. It was extremely exhausted. It's way past bed time. I'm tired. Good night. Tomorrow, we continue with the exercises.

120 Days Project: Day 10 and Day 11

Day #10
1/10/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 200
Push-ups 50
20-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
30 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausages, and a small side of cut fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, and honeydew)
Breakfast note: A good breakfast served by the fine folks at the Atrium Cafe at work.

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: bread sticks, marinara sauce, salad, grilled chicken, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, light soup, dark soup, and coffee
Dinner note: A wonderful spontaneous date with Kristin at the Olive Garden. We had a gift card that we got at Christmas for either Red Lobster or Olive Garden... it was bound to be used! I think it was an overall healthy dish. The bread sticks were the only things that are considered a no no. I only took a few bites of the light soup and dark soup (that was what Kristin got and I don't have a clue right now what the names of those soups were called). I also didn't eat all of the chicken. That was such a filling dinner.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #11
1/11/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
20-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
30 alternate hammer curls
30 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: blueberry shake and 1 banana
Snacks note: The blueberry shake, believe it or not, is actually a healthy drink. I visited my parents and my mom made this shake for us. It is made with blueberries, apples, low-fat yogurt, and ice. No sugars added because it is naturally sweetened by the fruit. Sooo good!

Weight: 210 lbs

Went to my parent's house again tonight 1/11/08 and borrowed their fax machine again lol. I don't go over there just to use their fax machine! Well, while I was there I did use their scale. It shows that I gained 2 lbs... what's up with that? I think that it's really o.k. I ate a big meal the night before at Olive Garden and I think that I may be gaining some muscle tone as well. I really believe the next time I weigh it will be down even below 208.

Pink Eye
Well, It's seems that my 'cold' that I have just doesn't want to leave 100%. I still have a small cough, but that's about it. I had sinus pressure below my left eye last night and it was really in a lot of pain. I woke up this morning with the pressure lessened a lot and pink eye in my left eye! I have never had pink eye before, but I just knew it when I got it. I put some drops in it tonight and some cream that I got from my parents. It feels better, but I hope that it will be gone tomorrow. I don't like it!

Even though I 'forgot' to post last night (I just was needed to go on to bed) I still did my exercises and I wrote down what I ate so I wouldn't forget. I hate skipping a day to post, but I know some days that it will probably be inevitable because of time and situations. Sometimes it seems I just come over to my apartment to sleep! I do want to post as often as I can, and that's every night if possible. So you keep viewing and I'll keep on posting! Well, I'll keep on posting anyway because that's the nature of the project.

120 Days Project: Day 9

Day #9
1/9/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
20-minute walk
15-minute sprint (in my apartment)
50 alternate hammer curls
25 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Not much to say today. That was the last of my deer sausage :( but I still have 2 things of deer steak for later. I feel like the only thing that wasn't healthy was the grape juice. It did have vitamin C which I really needed. I feel a lot more energized after that meal.

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

After I post this blog it will be 1/9/08, however, I did manage to get my blog posted before I went to bed... is that o.k.? I feel like the little sprints that I am doing in my apartment is one of the best exercises that I'm doing. It is one of the only exercises that really works up a sweat, which means more calories being burned. I noticed a little physical change tonight after I took my picture.

I feel a lot better today and my body is feeling pretty good. I was dead tired when I got home from work, so I went straight to bed after I walked in my apartment. I got in around a 2-hour nap. I actually woke up to the sound of a knock at my door. Kristin had tried to call me on my cell and she came over because no one was at the church for prayer meeting. I know I looked like a mess after getting up to go answer the door. Prayer meeting was in session and we headed that way after getting word from Pastor Marvin (it had just started a little later today). It was a good prayer meeting and I believe that there are going to be some break-throughs and explosions about to happen at the church. I really do.

It's only day 8 and 112 more days to go. If the obvious progress from my weight loss and toning begin to increase more rapidly, and I get to a point where I'm at the weight that I want to be before the 120 days is up, then I will more than likely (of course) continue with the exercise program and just eat healthy meals so that I can maintain a healthy weight and start getting more physically in shape. However, it is still pretty early to talk about that. Maybe one day during the project, I can start doing that. Remember, my weight is at 208 lbs as of 1/7/08, and I would like to get down to 175 -170 lbs. But we shall see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

120 Days Project: Day 7

Day #7
1/7/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 100
Push-ups 25
20-minute walk
10-minute sprint (in my apartment)
25 alternate hammer curls

Diet
Breakfast: none
Breakfast note:

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Weight: 208 lbs

As you can see, I have posted my weight for the first time. I had to really borrow his fax machine :O But I still got in a good visit while there as well.

I am tired and a little under the weather today (I know the diet today contributes). I'm going to go straight to bed right after this post. As you can see, I have not eaten a bite today. I be no craaaazy! I am just on a mission other than the 120 days project as well. That's all I have to say about that (said in a Forrest Gump voice).

As far as physical changes are concerned. I think I see very minute changes occuring if any. I feel like I need to get lots of sleep. I'm going to bed. There really was a lot going on today with my cousin Marcus getting married to a wonderful, relaxing, nice, placid date with Kristin. I really enjoy her company. :D

...I'll make up for this bad exercise disappearance...

Diet
Breakfast: 1 banana
Breakfast note: If you want the scoop on bananas, please see google for more answers.

Lunch: Coffee, punch, and peanuts
Lunch note: My cousin Marcus got married today (1/5/08)! These were the delicacies that were served at the reception. This was definitely a splurge day, BUT I still didn't do all that bad! The only area here where I felt I messed up was with the punch because it had Sprite in it. I do not want to be drinking carbonated drinks during this project. NO MORE!

Dinner: 2 pumpkin fritters, beets, pelmeni, cabbage, and a small slab of deer steak
Dinner note: Kristin cooked for me, and I must say that it was wonderful! Of course you think I'm biased, but I know the facts!

Snacks: Chai tea
Snacks note: Kristin made this great drink also. I still don't think it tasted anything like cream of mushroom soup! Ooops! I don't think I was suppose to say that!

Day #6
1/6/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips
20 minute sprint (in my apartment)

Diet
Breakfast: Coffee
Breakfast note: In case you're wondering, I usually don't put creamer or sugar in my coffee.

Lunch: Low mein, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken (with jalapenos), vegetable medley (with mushrooms), broccoli chicken, 4 sushi, sweet and sour soup, pineapple, honeydew, and peaches.
Lunch note: Before you say sinning in satan's sodium surplus, please be advised that I did not eat everything! I think I took one bite of my low mein and left over half of my soup... but I did eat the rest. :) My really good friend James Reed and his girlfriend Jennifer came to our church service this morning. I met James in Tau Kappa Omega, the greek club that I was active in at Lee University. What a pleasant surprise it was to see my great friend unexpectedly! James, Jennifer, Kristin, and I had a wonderful visit at the restaurant.

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: Coffee
Snacks note: O.k. I did put creamer in the coffee this time, but no sugar.

In case you're wondering what I am drinking with my meals, it is water. Water water water. If I drink something else that day, I will tell you otherwise.

You know, day 6 and no chocolate. My body is going into sober shock! I really do believe that I will get to the point were I will not crave sweets like I did. I just have to get over this painfully steep hill where my body craves the foods that I spoiled it with and it will be smooth sailing from then on.

On an exercise note, I really feel that a more aerobic workout may be more beneficial for my body to experience the physical change that I want to start seeing, but that is a "duh" idea. I'm going to try to sweat it more by trying to sprint more and doing more active exercises.

120 Days Project: Day 4

Day #4
1/4/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
50 alternate hammer curls
50 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausages
Breakfast note: Only the best breakfast foods that Aramark offers. This is Unum's food service provider.

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: beens and rice with a cut of ham and cabbage
Dinner note: This meal was prepared by my mother. Good food. Good visit.

Snacks: 1 banana
Snacks note: Just a plain banana. Nothing particularly special about this banana. This species of fruit can be found and purchased at your local market. Usually around 46 to 52 cents per pound depending on where you go. A good source of potassium and has a tasty, unique flavor unlike anything. For more information about bananas, please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana

I felt a lot better today than yesterday. Maybe it does have something to do with eating breakfast in the morning. The only disadvantage with working at Unum is sitting down in your chair all day. That's what I did today at work if felt. I was trying to get caught up with these follow-up calls. I did get a lot accomplished, but I still have a few more to get down. I should be caught up by Monday... I hope.

A thought just came to me that I'm not posting another important factor in my progress of the 120 days and that's my weight progress. Well, goodness. I would post it right now, but I don't have a scale here at my apartment. Well, maybe I can post my weight weekly by visiting my parents house to borrow their scale for a minute! I would have done that tonight had I thought of that while I was at their house.

Well, I'm going to go to bed and sleep and sleep! I love it! I keep getting asked by many, "What about after the 120 days are up?" I want to explain more of why I'm doing it 120 days and not 60 or 240? I know what the underlying question is. "What is your diet plan after 120 days?" Remember, this program is to help me get on a consistent diet and exercise program. The truth of the matter is it could be called the 999 and a half Days Project, but 120 days is, I believe, long enough to help me get on the journey. I do plan on letting it be a life journey, but this is simply helping me to get consistent.

Also, I have a lot of the "accountability partners" asking what they have to do or what they want me to have them do. The answer to that is absolutely nothing. You are reading this blog and that is the fullest part of accountability one can do here. Whipping the back of my hand with a wet noodle if I mess up is "extra accountability." The reason why you don't have to do a thing is simply because I have it in the back of my mind that the people who do read these blogs and know about the project have to be given positive results. I do not want to give negative results to those reading the blog. The facts may be that only 2 or 3 people are even reading these blogs or keeping up with my results. It can be that no one reads these blogs and knows of my results, but I have it in the back of my mind that I have to give positive results to the blog because I just don't want to hang my head low by messing up and posting things of a... negative... nature.

I wish that I could have posted the first day yesterday on the first, but there was a wonderful woman that came back to town the night before! We had a get-together/lock-in at the church with the youth and we celebrated the New Year in by counting down with Times Square on t.v. Kristin and I celebrated the New Years day by going to the Sitar Indian restaurant. So that was my dinner for that day... o.k. I need to explain what I eat on these blogs to. That's the next topic. Kristin is so wonderful and beautiful!

My meals that I eat will be posted along with the exercises. Exercises for day 1 sucked. I hate to post it, but I did some at least. I'll post what I ate as well. I think... I need to not eat that much dough.

Day #1
1/1/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 90
Push-ups 15
15-minute walk

Diet
Breakfast: 3 bacon strips, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages
Breakfast note: I know it was a pretty big breakfast, but come-on! It was New Years morning! At least I didn't put butter on my pancakes! :)

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: yes, Chai tea
Dinner note: Please ask Kristin the names of the dishes that we had. I ate till I was full. It was great food, I know that much!

Snacks: none
Snacks note:

Day #2
1/2/08

Exercises
Sit-ups 150
Push-ups 50
20-minute walk
25 alternate hammer curls
25 bench dips

Diet
Breakfast: 2 chicken biscuits and a small side of cut fruit (strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, and honeydew)
Breakfast note: I know, biscuits bad, BUT, fruit good.

Lunch: none
Lunch note:

Dinner: none
Dinner note:

Snacks: 1 apple
Snacks note: I believe it was a Braeburn apple.

O.k. so there is day 1 and day 2, and yes I have taken a picture of myself both days. I'm just curious how quickly or slow changes will come... if they do come. But they will! So scratch that if off! We'll just have to wait and see.

120 Days Project

Well, I know it's time to post again. Can I blame it on all the craziness of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season? No? O.k. Well, in case you don't know, I'll be going up to Ohio for Christmas this year! I'm going to spend the Christmas holiday with Kristin's sister and parents. I wish Jungle Jims was a little closer to Cleveland, TN! I'll be heading out Friday 12/21/07 and I'll return the evening of 12/25/07. I wish I didn't have to come back that early, but work would not let me off the days after the Christmas break. Even still, I'm very excited about going up to Ohio to spend a cheerful Christmas holiday!

Now what is 120 Days Project? Isn't that 4 months? Is it some crazy title I made while listening to Alan Parson's Project? Yes and yes! O.k. the 120 Days Project is something I have come up with that will begin on January 1, 2008 and it will end in 120 days (duh) on April 28, 2008. It's a program that will help with my diet and exercise routines... well... it's a program that will get me on a diet and exercise routine! But it isn't just a diet that I can claim I'm on any day. This is a consistent diet and exercise program where I make myself have accountability partners. Who and how is this done? Well...
1. Who: Anyone who reads my blogs and/or knows about my 120 Days Project will be my accountability partner.
2. How: I have to report on my blog daily the routines in exercises that I've done and the progress of my diet. (I will develop a check list for faster posting. Like a copy and paste thingy.)

I feel that in order to stay on a diet and stay in an exercise routine, for me, then I must have some sort of a motivational reason for doing it. Kind of like looking forward to something. I know when I lost 75 pounds back in 2001, I had something to look forward to, and that was simply to lose weight and get in shape. However, with food tasting more tasty and chocolate beginning to be a make-up of my blood stream, I need a new motivation. The motivation this time will simply be to succeed in fulfilling the 120 Days Project (along with getting in shape and losing weight of course). This project has a pretty neat benefit as well, I will blog a LOT more.

I am also going to do a visual weight loss 'slide show' of the progress from January 1, 2008 to April 28, 2008 that I will show after it is complete. I will take a picture of myself once a day everyday during the 120 days.

I know I'm going to succeed in this program and that's why I know I can go ahead and do it. This is the type of thinking that is good in many areas of life. Of course we can't succeed in anything without the help of God who gives us our very breath. I feel like writing an inspiring report, can't you tell?

Anyway, you should look at this if you feel like making a little extra money on the side is something you know that you can do: http://www.mypowermall.com/Biz/Home/89480

Starting January 1, 2008, it begins. I will post more details of the actual program that day when I get fully into it (like what exercises, what to eat/not eat, what to drink/not drink, and good stuff like that).

Until then! Merry Christmas and get some figgy pudding!!!!!

Here's One (a post that is)

O.k. I know. I have been pretty bad at this blogging stuff. I'll be suprised if anyone sees this post within the next few days. I have finished work early today and got pretty bored so I thought I would put a post up on my blog. I've been pretty busy and if I can blame anything for not being able to put up a post, then I'll just say that I've been working a lot at work and at Church. Well, I don't guess that's a real excuse, but it's kind of incredible what the same-ole same-ole, full-time work can do to your body and mind. I feel like a week passes about the same amount of time as a day does. I was just amazed because it seems as if though I didn't even exist there for a couple of weeks, even to my own self! However, work is going really well and I'm still enjoying it very much. I am still trying to get used to going to bed early to rise early.

One of these weekends here soon will be wonderful. Either the end of October or the beginning of November. Me and Kristin are planning a fishing trip in North Carolina where her grandparents are from. There is an Indian reservation there that has really nice camp sites to stop and fish along the streams. It will be nice to get away from the busy life for a little bit and to relax. I'm just afraid that that 3-day weekend will only seem like a couple of hours! I hope that it drags... lol. Kristin's birthday is in one more week. October 22. Time just flies! It doesn't seem like it's already been 1 year and 7 months that we've been dating, but it has! I know a lot of people keep wondering "Well, when's the big day?" Well, I'm learning that patience is a characteristic not taken lightly. I wish I could tell everyone, but you can't catch the fish if you pull the line too quickly, and I don't want to let this fish go!!!

Well, Good Lord, I pray that you give me wisdom and strength for the day and clarity of mind, and may I always walk according to Your will.

Wonderful Work

Hello again everyone! I figured that I would go ahead and enter another post about my job at Unum and how everything's going.

I started work at Unum on August 6, 2007, and I am a medical records specialist in the medical records department. I have been in training these past two days, but the training has finished! When I go in tomorrow, I will go to my cubical and start working like everyone else there! I am very excited because I'm doing a job that is related to my field of study in many areas, and the work is something that gets easier over time. It's a great atmosphere where I work, and I get to decorate my cubical how I want it. I think I may put my degree certificate from Lee on my wall there! Oh, I finally got that piece of paper about a week ago! I feel that I have gotten all the basics down pat and that I'll just get better and faster at them over time. I wish I could go more in detail about what I do step-by-step, but there is a confidentiality issue not only with medical informaiton from customers and providers, but also with the processes of our jobs even down to the programs that we use to process them. It would probably be boring to a lot of people if I was able to post it anyway. I got a cool Unum badge and access card that I get to where in a cool fashion so that I can increase the coolness of my walk as I walk around the cool buildings :) Well, I'll tell you more about it in the future... even about the good food that they have in the cafeteria (such as the ham and cheese panini that I had for lunch) lol!

Kristin and I finally got Raven to the vet office yesterday to get her shots updated, spayed, and declawed on the front two paws. Kristin actually dropped her off there yesterday and she picked her up today. Raven may be a little cranky because after Kristin dropped Raven back off at her house, she ran and hid under the futon. I think Raven will get over it and be out and about again soon, hopefully.

Well, I have some notes and documents to look over for work tonight. So I think I'm going to go ahead and look into that. Just notes that tells me how to do my job and do it more effectively. Talk to you guys later!

Door Remains Cracked

Well, I went in for the job interview at the Hamilton County office today and it didn't really go as I had expected it to go. The overall interview went very well, but there were just a few small red flags that I saw when Bart (the man in charge) interviewed me. The job description can be found here: http://www.hamiltontn.gov/HumanResources/JobDetails.aspx?JobID=300
I would get to program in Visual Basic .Net through Visual Studio .Net which is something that I believe I would enjoy very much. He also mentioned that the hours would be from 7 to 5 just Monday through Thursday. So, a four day work week is a plus, but he mentioned that the salary would be negotiable. I told him what the link to the job description said as far as salary range, but he made it sound like that that I would be starting out lower than what was on the job description... well... I'll just go ahead and go to work at Unum for now and if I hear something from Bart again (he said that it may take 2 weeks before I hear anything from them) then I'll get more information as far as a salary and whether or not that is the path I should take. But we shall see. The door remains cracked. I'm just so very grateful and happy that I am about to start work soon! It pays well, and even if I don't get the job at Hamilton County, I'll still have a big Unum playground to play in :)

Another Door?

Well, as a lot of you know by now, I will start working at Unum on August 6th. That's exactly one more week! However, I got a call today from Hamilton County (in Chattanooga) and they would like for me to come in for an interview tomorrow..... I told them that I would come in because the position that they are hiring for is one that is directed exactly towards my degree. It's a programmer position using Microsoft Visual Studio .Net and Visual Basic .Net. Also, the pay would be even better than what Unum offered. I really would like to receive that position instead, but I'll just go in for the interview, see how that goes, and I'll still go to work at Unum as if though Hamilton County hadn't called. I have my interview at 3:00 tomorrow so pray that God will have his will in that situation and whether the door should open or close (cause it seems as if though it is cracked open for now). I'm going to go have a wonderful lunch with Kristin tomorrow! If you haven't heard of the Sitar Indian Restaraunt, then hear it now! It's an Indian restaraunt, of course, that has some of the best food I've ever had. I don't know if I like Chinese or Indian food better. I'll get some to-go boxes and take it to Kristin's work for tomorrow. I've been craving that place for a while now! Well, I'll let you know the status of the interview and future happenings. But for now, take care!

Answer to Prayer

For those of you that have not heard, my hard work at searching for a job has finally paid off! I have finally got a job working at Unum in Chattanooga (www.unum.com). Unum is one of the world's leading employee benefits provider. They are an insurance company that helps employees who become injured or sick. Thanks to Kelly Services (www.kellyservices.com) in Chattanooga, I was able to be employed with Unum. For those who think that I'll just be there temporarily, don't worry. Unum talked with me and said that more than likely, I will be hired full-time through Unum without Kelly Services after 90 days. I am very thrilled to get to work in something that I like to do! I will be a Medical Records Operator. Basically, I will contact Unum's medical clients and update, verify, and record new data in their Access database while maintaining the databases. I will start this posistion on August 6th at 8:00 a.m.! I'll work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and I'll get to work in my own little cubical on the third floor on the east building hahahaha. Oh, the dress is even casual!

Let me tell you about the physical place which is what struck me when I first saw it. It is A-MA-ZING! I said I'll be in the east building. They have two buildings: east and (yep) west buildings. They are across from each other. The east building is where most of the actual work, tasks, and assignments will be given and performed. While this building is really really beautiful looking on the inside, the west building is fantastic and could be considered the playground for Unum's employees. The west building has a really nice looking cafeteria inside where you can get your breakfast or lunch. They also have a Starbucks inside the main part of the cafeteria! I'll defenitely be getting some of that! There's a 100" (at least) screen in the cafeteria that you can watch while you eat. They leave it on CNN news which is o.k. I guess. They then have a gym in the lower floor for the Unum employees to go and workout in. Makes me want to go to work early! I just can't believe that there are really places to work that are like this.

When I had my interview with Brian and Adam, they provided an atmosphere that was really laid back and made it really easy to talk to them. They mentioned that with my degree in Computer Information Technology, I will probably even get to move up into their IT department one day in the future. That sounds good to me! I'm just so thankful that God provided me with such a wonderful place to work at. He's answered my prayer and then some! Thank you everyone for your support and prayers too! I'll try to keep you updated when I remember to blog again!

Hola mi amigos!

Hey everyone! How's it going? I'm off work today, Wednesday, and Thursday, so I'm going to add a new post! I still have not received that final grade yet from my online course... I'm not sure if he's just taking his time giving the grade or what, but if it's not in by Friday, I'm going to try to call him or something. I'm ready to have my actual, tangible, non-artificial, real, genuine and authentic diploma in my possession. As far as job hunting is concerned, I'm going to be doing a lot more of that during these days off from work. I have looked online and in newspapers, but the good majority of those want experience. I think I'm going to just apply to them anyways. Well, I went over to Kristin's yesterday and we watched Strictly Ballroom and had some good food from Qdoba. Kristin's parents are coming in for the weekend. It will be very good to see them. I hope we go to Rembrandt's again! If you have not been to Rembrandt's, I recommend everyone to try it! It's in Chattanooga and they serve really good panini's, salads, coffee's, teas, and desserts! The atmosphere is really awesome too. Here's some more pictures of me and the loverly Kristin!

Me and Kristin

Me and Kristin and Raven

Speaking of Raven, that cat is crazy! I've never seen a cat that can't seem to grasp the concept that if you get on the table or the counters, you're going to get the spray bottle. But that doesn't seem to stop her for her ultimate mission of getting food wherever it may hide. One day that cat is going to be getting a fixin'. O.k. I better get off here. I'm just staying up late. I'm about to go to bed. I had work today from 3 to 10 and I got a little bored and decided to update my blog so that everyone can see that I'm still alive and blogging. I redid What a Wonderful World so you can listen to that if you want. I also did an experiment song using nothing but midi samples. Hope you enjoy them. As for what's going on, nothing much. Just looking around for some job openings that I can start working into. I hope to find something soon! Please be in prayer for Kristin. She is giong through some hard times with her work and other situations. We know that God is in control and can give peace and comfort through hard times. Also keep praying for my dad so that he won't cry so much. It makes me cry whenever I see him cry :( I love you dad! I was trying to think of another song that I could do today to put into my blog and I thought of how it seems that everyone wants me to do I Can Only Imagine either at church or at family get-togethers. So I decided to put it on here so that you can hear it whenever you want to :) This is a better recording than what I did with What a Wonderful World as far as the music is concerned, but I'm still working on the voice part.

Well, I may not post anything tomorrow. Oh, I also went to Lee today to work on my resume and they did some great changes that helped the overall effectiveness. Now I just have to do some hunting and resume posting! I am getting my resume updated and have an appointment at Lee's campus tomorrow (technically today) for tips on getting it looking good. I'm hoping to get a good job somewhere that will let me use my degree in computer information systems. Kristin showed me a place that I'm going to try to apply for... Blue Cross Blue Shield in Chattanooga, TN. They have an intern position available that I'm going to apply for and hopefully, Lord willing, will get hired! Please pray that I will find a job soon! I was thinking how wonderful life is even in the midst of trials and tribulations. God is so good. I sat on my computer and recorded What a Wonderful World today. Here it is for you to listen to.

I deleted this version of What a Wonderful World. Go up to the post titled "Hello again" to hear it.

I think I'll post some more songs too along the way. I love you guys and I'll talk to you later. God bless!

I'm alive!!!

So, here I am putting up a new post to my blog. What can I say? My Sugarbabe left this morning to go to Florida for her job. So I'm stuck here all alone, and I find myself with lots of time on my hands. I guess, that means I can do some posting on my blog. Well, the good news is that she'll be back Saturday! Some of you asked that I put up some pictures of her on my blog, I planned on doing that anyways, so here she is! This is Kristin, a.k.a Sugarbabe!

.

She's so beautiful, I know. I love her very much, and I am very excited to be with her!

Kristin can cook like a chef! Now, please don't think that this is why I'm dating her. Of course the food that she cooks is magnifico, but even if she didn't cook, I would still be very happy to be with her! However, I'm just considering her wonderful cooking abilities and her vast knowledge of food as blessings within a blessing! God is good :) These are some of the wonderful dishes that she has made before in the past.

This is a butternut squash dish that was unbelievably delicious!

Here it is on my plate :)

This is a tortellini salad that she made one time for Church. Well, don't worry. I guarantee that there will be plenty more wonderful looking dishes to post on here in the near future.

Well, those are my thoughts as of right now. I'm doing o.k. I will finally finish finish school this coming Friday (June 1)! Then it's time to enter the world of work, work, work, work, work, work, work, play?, work, work, work, work, work, work, work.

Well, you guys take care!
